The Telangana government is planning four major bus terminals around Hyderabad. The proposed locations include Gajularamaram, Shamshabad, LB Nagar and Ghatkesar. The initiative aims to reduce congestion caused by long-distance buses in the city’s core areas.
The terminals will serve as interchange points for inter-district and inter-state buses. Long-distance services from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra could terminate at these peripheral locations.
Four Bus Terminals Around Hyderabad
The government is considering around 100 acres at Gajularamaram and 150 acres near Shamshabad for the proposed terminals. Officials are also looking at locations in LB Nagar and Ghatkesar.
The new terminals will connect passengers with TGSRTC buses, Hyderabad Metro and MMTS services. These connections can make passenger transfers easier and improve last-mile connectivity.
Focus on Public Transport Connectivity
The Telangana government is also considering a similar terminal-based system for private buses. The system could help manage private and long-distance bus operations more efficiently.
Better last-mile connectivity will help passengers travel between the terminals and different parts of Hyderabad. The planned addition of 2,200 electric buses could further strengthen the city’s public transport network.
