Hyderabad’s KBR Park road infrastructure plan is getting a major redesign. The Telangana government plans to replace the earlier proposal of 14 structures with a single two-way elevated corridor.
Previously, the proposal included seven flyovers and seven underpasses around Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (KBR) National Park. However, the new plan focuses on one elevated structure. As a result, the project could improve traffic movement while reducing construction around the park.
Single Elevated Corridor from Jubilee Hills to Nagarjuna Circle
Under the revised plan, authorities propose a two-way elevated corridor from Jubilee Hills Check Post to Nagarjuna Circle. This corridor could provide smoother traffic movement between these busy areas.
In addition, it could improve connectivity to Madhapur and HITEC City. Meanwhile, the new approach differs from the earlier plan, which required several flyovers and underpasses around KBR Park.
Hyderabad Traffic Plan Moves Away from Multiple Flyovers
The earlier KBR Park infrastructure plan included seven flyovers and seven underpasses. Now, authorities plan to consolidate the proposed infrastructure into one elevated corridor.
Therefore, the new approach could simplify traffic movement across the area. It could also reduce the need for multiple large structures at different junctions.
One-Way Traffic System Influences the Revised Plan
The change follows the implementation of a one-way traffic system around KBR Park. As a result, authorities have an opportunity to review the infrastructure requirements in the area.
Instead of multiple flyovers and underpasses, the revised approach focuses on a single elevated corridor. This could create a more streamlined traffic arrangement around the park.
Better Connectivity Towards Madhapur and HITEC City
Furthermore, the proposed elevated corridor could improve connectivity to Madhapur and HITEC City. Both areas serve as major commercial and technology hubs in Hyderabad.
At the same time, the elevated route could reduce interruptions from traffic signals and busy junctions. Consequently, vehicles could move more smoothly between Jubilee Hills and Nagarjuna Circle.
Reduced Infrastructure Impact Around KBR Park
The revised plan could also reduce major construction around KBR Park. Previously, the proposal required several flyovers and underpasses across the area.
Instead, the single elevated corridor could provide the required road infrastructure with fewer major structures. Therefore, the approach could improve connectivity while limiting construction activity around the park.
Final Technical Details Yet to Be Completed
However, authorities still need to complete the technical details of the Hyderabad elevated corridor plan. These details will cover the final design, construction requirements and other project specifications.
Once the planning process is complete, the government will issue the official order. Meanwhile, the proposed KBR Park corridor could become an important part of Hyderabad’s efforts to improve urban mobility, road connectivity and traffic management.
